Free Disney Resources to enjoy during the quarantine

Hiya Mouseketeers. We are feeling the effects of this quarantine, and we are sure you are too. Episode 24 of our podcast spills some tea, but we promised a blog with resources, so here it is. Below we present you with a collection of websites for free activities as well as some helpful tips to bring a little Disney magic into your home.

Get Crafty

Disney Family is a wonderful site dedicated to recipes, crafts, and activities that everyone can enjoy. From the smallest Mouseketeer in your party to the oldest, this site provides tons of tutorials to keep you from going stir crazy.

If you need supplies to get your craft on, stores such as Michaels and Jo-Anns are offering curbside pick up. Simply log on, place an order for supplies online, drive to the store and have an associate bring it straight to your vehicle. This is a good way to get out of the house a bit and take a quick drive without risking severe exposure to others.

Spread Kindness

With the cancellation of the Star Wars Rival Run, many individuals who were raising money for a good cause, such as the American Cancer Society, are left without the opportunity to participate, but their efforts to continue to raise money should not end just because they can’t run a race. Take a moment during this quarantine to speak to your children about the importance of spreading kindness, not germs. Please also consider donating to a fellow podcaster who was running in memory of her late father. She is working so hard to raise $2,000 in his name for cancer research. You can find her donation page HERE.

Virtual Vacation

One of the most impressive things that we have seen from this quarantine is the creativity people are showing in the face of uncertainty. For one, people are putting together homemade Disney ride videos that have people rolling on the floor laughing. Here are some of our favorites:

Pirates

Splash Mountain

Kilimanjaro Safari

Another great resource to bring a little magic back into your days is YouTube. There are many wonderful bloggers and vloggers out there who have channels full of Disney content with videos of full-ride experiences, reviews of foods (so you can plan accordingly for your next trip), and even firework shows in their entirety. Tell us who your favorite was, drop it in the comments below.

If you need your Disney Live Stream fix, we can help you with that – follow Mark Daniel. He’s the host of most Disney live streams, and since he’s not allowed in the park, he’s been making some pretty funny content from home to help pass the time.

Get your Learn On

Imagineering in a Box is a free online course for kids and adults. You can partake in interactive lessons on theme park design and engineering, designed to give a behind-the-scenes peek into Imagineering’s development process. It combines 32 videos of actual Imagineers, real-world case studies, and lots of interactive activities to give you the opportunity to dream and design your very own theme park experience!

Don’t forget great local resources like your neighborhood library. You may have the option to get an online library card, and take advantage of checking out e-books and magazines.

Binge Watching like a Champ

If you don’t have Disney+ now is the time to get it. So much content has been made available due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are some things you can do now, and some things to look forward to:

  • Binge The Mandalorian (because Baby Yoda)
  • Watch Frozen 2
  • Enjoy groundbreaking new shows like Diary of a Future President
  • Onward will begin streaming on the service in early April

We truly hope everyone is staying safe, and we would love to hear from you all. Share with us how you are bringing Disney magic into your homes during the quarantine. Drop your comments below.

See ya real soon!
